University of California, Davis
Anna is a Ph.D. student in the Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry graduate group (AGChem) at the University of California Davis. Her work with Dr. Thomas Young in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department focuses on applying non-target chemical analysis to understand how various chemical products enter, are transformed by, and impact environmental systems. Anna received her B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where she worked with Dr. Lee Blaney. Her research involved the development of passive samplers for PFAS and the detection of contaminants of emerging concern in various aquatic ecosystems.
Anna is interested in building connections with her new community and improving the transmission of scientific information. As a student representative, she plans to act as a bridge between NorCal SETAC and the multitude of departments at the University of California Davis through her connections to both AGChem and Civil and Environmental Engineering. She looks forward to working with members of the larger SETAC community and building an inclusive network for new members.
