Krista Hoffmann is a Senior Environmental Scientist (Specialist) with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Krista holds an undergraduate degree in Evolution and Ecology from UC Davis, and a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology. Krista has worked and conducted research in the California Bay-Delta region for over fifteen years, and also spent three years working on environmental outreach and monitoring as a Peace Corps volunteer on the Pacific island of Palau (Micronesia). Krista’s PhD research investigated the toxic effects and interactions of aquatic contaminants in mixtures. She currently is the IPM Coordinator with the Lands Program at CDFW, focusing on effective and ecologically sound methods for vegetation control across CDFW's Wildlife Areas and Ecological Reserves.
Krista is excited to join the Northern California Chapter for the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. She hopes through her participation as a committee member of NorCal SETAC, she can help the program to accomplish its mission “to support the development of principles and practices for protection, enhancement and management of sustainable environmental quality and ecosystem integrity.” She looks forward to working with NorCal SETAC board members and student representatives to help promote science and outreach in this field.
