Perry Gee currently serves as an Undergraduate Student Advisor with the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Davis. It is his responsibility to ensure that the undergraduate major population progresses successfully towards their degree and within a timed expectation. Perry also assists faculty with their administrative needs and manages a number of outreach programs to support students academically as well as professionally.
Educationally, Perry earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of Cinema-Television at the University of Southern California (1994) and an Associate degree in Mass Communications from the Department of Journalism at Consumnes River College (1990). He joined UC Davis in May 2005, and over those years he has been a member of the American Chemical Society (2013-Present), been named Outstanding Academic Advisor by the Office of Undergraduate Education at UC Davis (2015), become certified as an UndocuAlly Educator by the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center (2017), and become certified in Mental Health First Aid USA by the National Council for Behavioral Health (2019).
Each day Perry reports to work, he demonstrates leadership, a strong work ethic, and compassion towards others. He has created, partnered, or revitalized academic and professional programs in the Department of Chemistry to further involve students as a means of enriching their experiences. Perry's overall goal is to ensure that each student under his charge succeeds from admission to graduation, and by supporting their efforts, help them to become globally active citizens and forward-thinking leaders.
