Sarah Stinson is a PhD student in the Ecology graduate group at the University of California at Davis. She is currently working with Drs. Richard Connon and Sharon Lawler studying pesticide toxicity in aquatic invertebrates using genomic tools. This work combines her interests in ecotoxicology with aquatic ecology within a solution-oriented framework. Sarah earned her B.S. in Evolution and Ecology from the University of California at Davis, with a minor in Latin and Medieval studies. She worked at the California Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS) laboratory system, assisting veterinary toxicology research projects. She has a strong interest in community outreach, teaching, and science communication. In addition to her scientific pursuits, she is also a principal member of a professional dance company. Her creative pursuits serve to complement her love of science, balancing critical thinking with creativity.
Sarah is committed to finding solutions to environmental problems, promoting education and outreach, and is looking forward to working towards these shared goals with SETAC. Sarah is NorCal SETAC’s representative to the SETAC North America Student Advisory Council.
